Student Learning Outcomes

Students will  be able to write a freshman-level essay, demonstrating their facility with

3.       Making and Supporting Claims

4.       Grammar, Mechanics, and Syntax

Assessment Plan

1.       Samples of the first and last essays will be scored with the common ENGL 1101 Essay Rubric.

a.       1/3 of each class will be randomly selected.

2.       Each assessment cycle 2 SLOs will be assessed.

3.       For each SLO assessed, 70% of assessed students will score at least a “C” or higher (7.5 out of 10 possible points).
